Libertarian Bob Barr polling at 6 percent

Libertarian Party nominee Bob Barr is polling at 6 percent nationally according to a recent Zogby Poll which is substantial for a third party candidate and good news for Americans who value the Constitution.

Barr is easily my number two choice, a far better option than that flip-flopping war-mongering Constution-trampling burn-out John McCain. Barr’s most attractive position is his commitment to the Constitution and ending this disasterous Bush-Cheney foreign policy. Unlikely to win the presidency, Barr will siphon votes from John McCain and also create awareness of libertarian ideas. I frankly wish the political spectrum in this country was between libertarians and socialists rather than between Republican thugs and sell-outs who call themselves Democrats.

Based on state-by-state polling, Zogby also reports that if the election were held today, Obama would win 273 electoral votes putting him over the 270 threshold to win the election. McCain would receive 160 electoral votes, leaving 105 up for grabs. Obama is the choice of 44 percent of voters surveyed, compared to 38 percent who prefer McCain. Even more interesting is FiveThirtyEight.com who has Obama winning with as many as 308 electoral votes, a landslide!

I would love to see the GOP be squeezed out over time. We can cut off it’s ugly head, hack it to peices, seal it in a plastic bag and throw it out to sea after all the death and destruction they have caused.
