Remember the GOP convention last month? They did this whole presentation about Theodore Roosevelt. McCain is fond of quoting Roosevelt’s “big stick” line and has on a number of occasions called himself a “Roosevelt Republican.”
McCain’s recent attacks on Obama for wanting to “spread the wealth” and Palin’s and other wingnut right-wingers to scare everyone into thinking Obama is the re-incarnation of Stalin reminded me of McCain’s fondness for Roosevelt. See, by modern right’s standards, Roosevelt himself was a socialist of a more extreme stripe than Senator Obama.

and how about…
The man of great wealth owes a peculiar obligation to the State, because he derives special advantages from the mere existence of government.
and this one…
The inheritance tax . . . is both a far better method of taxation, and far more important for the purpose of having the fortunes of the country bear in proportion to their increase in size a corresponding increase and burden of taxation.
I wish the right-wing drones would get a clue, maybe pick up a history book and stop livng their lives in constant fear.
