Former Colorado House Speaker Andrew Romanoff launched his campaign yesterday to challenge appointed U.S. Senator Michael Bennet in next year’s Democratic primary. Romanoff’s official launch was in Pueblo earlier in the day, but in the late afternoon, Romanoff held a launch rally in Denver at Washington Park which I and a couple of friends attended. I am fully behind Romanoff in this even though I may not agree with him 100%, I appreciate his conviction especially when contrasted to Bennet’s wishy-washy approach. I have no idea what Bennet stands for. They has no credibilty.
Romanoff commented on his father’s absence saying it was nothing personal, since his father is a Republican. Romanoff said, “He asked me if I was going to be a Blue Dog Democrat or a Yellow Dog Democrat. I said, ‘Dad, I’m the underdog Democrat.’ ” I’m a sucker for an underdog.
