Irish civil partners to be included in immigration laws

This January Ireland’s civil partners legislation goes into effect.  And now we have this from PinkNews.

Let’s encourage the lame duck Congress to ram Uniting American Families Act through along with Don’t Ask Don’t Tell repeal. Forget about a Republican House passing it. Those cockroaches are too terrified of the gay.

I find it interesting that predominantly Catholic countries like Ireland and Spain are far more progressive on LGBT equality. Then again, considering the Protestant puritanical roots of the early American colonists, this shouldn’t be surprising.
